Rough, dark wood against the smooth, blue sky.
You hike over a huge mountain in some foreign country, get to the edge of the cliff where the land meets the sea & you see this...endless sets for surfing.
Me, Lauren & Mary headed for the Shake Shack for a treat. When we got there, we were shocked to see that it was taken over by Ruby's. How could they?! The reason why we always went there was because it had that original homemade feel to their sandwiches & shakes. Knowing that it now has the corporate name attached, it just doesn't feel like it did before. But at least the beautiful ocean view hasn't lost it's ambiance.
I think this is a bee, but I've never seen one like this before. It was just hanging out on our wall, so I decided to risk getting stung so I could get a good picture of it. Did I ever tell you that I LOOOOOVE the macro setting on my camera?!
Amy & Toby made the treck out to Huntington Beach for a beach date. The weather was perfect and the water was warm. We stopped off at No Ka Oi to pick up lunch and headed back to the house for a pool session. Even tho me & Amy usually get jinxed with gloomy weather when we plan trips, this time was different. It must have been our lucky day indeed!
Last month my grandma came to visit from Hawaii, and since it was such a rare occasion (last time that she was in California, it was 1995!) we decided to take some family pictures to seize the moment. Yes, this is my crazy, mixed-plate family.
I ordered a telephoto lens last week & it came in yesterday! Don'tcha just love when you come home from a day's work to find a present at your doorstep?! After I ripped open the box like a kid on Xmas morning, I tested it out in our backyard. I can finally get close enough for a picture that I normally wouldn't have been able to get with my stock lens. I love it! After finding out about Amy's handsome new toy, it inspired me to take this one. =)
