Just bad timing...

Me, V, Neille & Marky decided to check out the US Open today, so we took our our bikes for the 5 mile ride to the beach. The sun was out with a little bit of a breeze, perfect weather for some pedaling. By the time we got there, the contest was already over. But the beach was still packed with the crowds. I don't think I have ever seen it this crowded...ever! We ended up walking around, checking out all the booths they had to offer.

I really loved this one. His name is Mike Field and creates amazing works of art. I love the Hawaiian vintage look to it & the way you can actually flip thru his art book. So creative! I really want to get a surfboard like this to just hang up in our house. Isn't it so cute?! Maybe V can paint one for me since my artistic ability with drawing goes as far as stick figures & happy faces.

We strolled over to the pier & watched the end of the MX show (that we just missed, of course!). While standing there, I spotted a cute, little bulldog. He looked like he was pretty excited to be there, enjoying the summer day.

Either way would work...

North or South, you'll still have a beautiful, scenic drive along the coast.

Refuel...

After a morning of surfing & a healthy dose of saltwater up your nose, a plate of omlette & homefries is the only way to go. So, we headed to this cute little cafe in San Clemente.

The happiest place on earth...

No, it's not Disneyland...it's so much better than that! Last Friday, me & the girls decided the weather was perfect for surfing & headed out to our favorite spot. It was a little overcast when we got there, but it all burned off & the sun came out just in time.

The thing that I love about this place is that it's never crowded & there are always empty waves up for grabs.

No matter what the conditions are, this place never seems to disappoint.

They're here, they're here!

They're finally here! Can't you tell the yellow/whites are my favorite?! =)

Another surf session sunset...

The sun finally fizzing away after a long day of overworking itself.

In search of a location...

Me & V set out for Laguna last nite to find a good place for pictures with the entire family. We don't get many chances like this since my grandma is here from Hawaii, so we had to grab the rare opportunity.

We found a perfect spot with some rock formations for all of us to sit on. Hopefully the beach won't be too crowded on the hot, Saturday morning.

As we were leaving, the sunset looked so beautiful & the palm trees gave it such a tropical feel. So of course I had to take a picture! It reminded me of the Tahiti sunsets.

I love the rebelious palm trees that change their minds & decide to not grow straight like the others. It's kinda cute, don'tcha think?

V seized the opportunity for a unique shot. I love it!

Lucky shot...

I went to throw away my piece of paper the other day & wasn't amazed at the fact that it DID go in, but was a bit intrigued at the fact that it didn't. I mean, what are the odds of this happening?!

Practicing my autograph...

Just in case I got the chance for Mann's Chinese Theater when I grew up. I found this by the garage at my parents' house. Looks like I wrote this in 1981, so I was about 4 years old here. I like the way I used to dot my I's with swirls.

4th of July fireworks...

Me & V rode our bikes to the pier to watch the firework show. Mary & Adam met up with us & we all looked up from our blanket on the sand. There were tons of people walking around & the air was filled with the sounds of the holiday exitement. But once the show started, the crowd went silent while the fireworks exploded over the water. The nite sky was clear & made a perfect backdrop for the colorful display & as always, was worth the bike ride down.

Something beautiful out of something icky...

The afternoon sun on a web that needs a little TLC.
